Mrs. Mabel Ann Priddy White, 92, of King, passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2021. She was born August 28, 1928 in Stokes County to Jessie and Ida Priddy. Mrs. White was part of the King American Legion for many years. She was the Historian and Sergeant at Arms. Mrs. White worked faithfully at the Stokes County Fair. The highlight of her year was riding with the Ladies Auxillary in the King Christmas Parade. Mabel loved her Senior Clubs, dancing and singing at the nursing homes. In fact, she and her sister, Mary sang in a Country Western Band in the late 40’s. Moms’ favorite past times were yard sales and flea markets. She loved seeing all her friends and loved going to the mountains near and far. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Columbus White; two brothers, James Priddy and Jim Priddy; three sisters, Maddie Trivette, Mary Boles and Myrtle Reid Wishon. Surviving are her daughter, Jo Ann Collins (Randy); grandchildren, Jennifer Collins (Mike) and Trip Collins; a special grandchild, Madison Myers; great grandchildren, Cai Parks, Aubrey Katelyn Fowler, Bray, Devin and McCade Collins; many nieces and nephews and a special friend and companion, her dog, “Dutchess”. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 10, 2021 at First Baptist Church of King with Rev. Lamar Tillman officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and visits. A special thank you to Trellis and Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home for taking such good care of her the last month. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her honor to the Hoof and Paw Trac, Therapeutic Riding Center, 718 Hicks rd., Lexington, NC 27295.
