Lynne Kathryn Warren Postma, 49, of Winston-Salem, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2008 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born December 15, 1958 in Queens, NY. She was a devout Catholic, a devoted mother of four children, an educationalist, and she dedicated her life to enabling the dreams of children. She graduated from Geneva College in Beaver Fall, PA with a Bachelors degree in English. She began her career as a TV broadcast journalist with Comcast Communications in Philadelphia and home schooled her children while also serving as a guide for other parents conducting home schooling. She most recently taught Elementary School at The Redeemer School in Winston-Salem, NC and worked as a freelance writer for various publishing organizations, including most recently Forsyth Woman Magazine in Clemmons, NC. Kathryn is survived by her loving children Luke, Ryan, Kaitlin, and Aubrey, siblings Richard and Mark Warren, her Parents Edna and Frank Warren, and her best friend and confidant Sharon Cornelison. Kathryn will be deeply missed by family, friends, parishioners at St. Leo's church, and various members of the local community. The family sends a special thanks to the following people for their time, expertise and compassionate care during her time of illness: Dr. Susan Melin, Dr. Brian Hemphill, Dr. John Stewart, the WFUMC Palliative Care Unit and the staff at KB Reynolds Hospice Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 24, 2008 at St. Leo The Great Catholic Church with Father Brian Cook officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
