Lynne Avant

Lynne Avant, 56, of Winston-Salem died Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born June 26, 1958 in Rutherfordton County to William Avant, Jr. and Betty Nodine Avant. Lynne would like to let you know that her work here on earth is done. She received a call, a sort of an offer you can't refuse, for an appointment from which she will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time. Her new mission takes her to a wonderful place where she will be socializing, dancing, and walking the streets of gold with her heavenly Jesus and earthly father, Bill Avant. Music, laughter and love are guaranteed. We want to let her know that she did a great job and wish her a safe journey. We will remember her smile, her warmth, her energy, her love for life, her family and friends. She worked very hard and made a difference in the lives of every person she encountered up until the very end. Lynne is survived by her mother, Betty Nodine Avant and son, Eric Ellis of Winston-Salem, NC. Her granddaughter Kennedy Ellis of Port Charlotte, FL. Her beloved brother William McFarland Avant III (Mary Avant) and her nieces Crystal Barber and Ashley Avant of Kernersville, NC. She was such a wonderful and loving Great Aunt to Devyn, Morgan, and Madison Tyner of Kernersville, NC. She had many caring and special friends during her life's journey and nothing delighted her more than spending time with us all. She leaves us behind now to share her message - ""Look up, Trust God, and stand in the victory that he alone can provide."" We invite you to join us and celebrate her life. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday August 9th at 2pm at Freeman Street Baptist Church with Pastor Bob Whitaker officiating. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends following the services in the fellowship hall of Freeman Street Baptist Church. (Arrangements are by Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel).
