Lynn Blizard Huie

Mrs. Lynn Blizard Huie, 69, of Winston Salem, passed away Monday July 14, 2014, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born on January 1, 1945 in Forsyth County to Everett and Mary Trent Blizard. Mrs. Huie was a member of Woodland Baptist Church; she worked for Southern Bell for many years and then worked for Lucia Clothing Company. She enjoyed collecting figurines and reading her Bible, but most importantly she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother Ronnie Trent. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years Tony Huie; two sons, Lee Huie and wife Genevieve of Rutherfordton, Lane Huie and wife Tammy of Statesville; five grandchildren, Noelle, Edmund, Kevin and Brian, and Eris; two Sisters, Tanya Huie and husband Junior of Winston Salem and Martha Burleson and husband Junior of Spruce Pine; two Brothers, Wayne Blizard and wife Judie of Yadkinville and Buddy Blizard of Lexington; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted Thursday July 17, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Woodland Baptist Church with Minister Tony Huie (her husband) and Rev. Tim Gammons officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6:00pm to 8:00 pm at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice and Palliative Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem 27103. The family would like to thank the staff at Arbor Village, Stanleyville for unparallel care and generosity in their time of need.
