KERNERSVILLE - Luther Mack Stilley, 83, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away Thursday, November 7, 2008 at his home. He was born May 22, 1925 in Bloomington, Indiana to the late Albert Gray and Clemmie Kiger Stilley. Luther was a United States Navy Veteran. He loved to hunt, garden, and listen to bluegrass gospel music. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Leftwich Stilley. Surviving are his loving wife of 51 years, 4 months and 7 days, Alma Coins Stilley of the home; two daughters, Deborah Stilley Peak and husband Craig, Vanessa Lynn Stilley; three grandchildren, April Jean Peak, Lindsay Erin Stilley, and Emily Brooke Stilley; one sister, Audrey Ellen Cheek and husband John. A funeral service will be conducted 2:30pm Sunday, November 9, 2008 at Hayworth Miller Cain Funeral Home Chapel in Kernersville with Brother Don Collins and Brother Don Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Sunlight Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9pm Saturday, November 8, 2008 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative CareCenter, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all the nurses, CNAs, and a special thanks to Karen and Richard who took such wonderful care of Mr. Stilley and his family during his last hours.
