Luther Lawrence Beeson, Jr.

Mr. Luther Lawrence Beeson, Jr., 83, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born March 24, 1929 in Forsyth County to Evadene Nolan and Luther Lawrence Beeson, Sr. Mr. Beeson served in U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict between 1951 and 1953 and retired from AT&T with over 32 years of service. He was a lifelong member of Crews United Methodist Church and was an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer. He was a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner of Pioneer Masonic Lodge #685 and was inducted into the N.C. Fast Pitch Softball Hall of Fame in 2006. Surviving is his wife of 60 years, Ruby West Beeson of the home; daughter, Susan Beeson of Winston-Salem; son Craig Beeson and wife Linda of Walkertown; two grandchildren, Luke Beeson and wife Angie, Clay Beeson; great-grandson, Andrew; two brothers, Nolan Beeson of Franklin, Norris Beeson of Winston-Salem; sister, Brenda Moses of Myrtle Beach; numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, January 4, 2013 at Crews United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Camp officiating. He will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friend following the service in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Crews United Methodist Church 4150 Reidsville Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27101.
