Ridgeway, VA - Lucy Gallimore Pope, 68, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville, VA. She was born May 28, 1942 in Christiansburg, VA to the late James Thomas and Nannie Craighead Gallimore. Lucy worked for Adams Millis 13 years and then started her own wallpaper business. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Amos Oliver Pope; five brothers and two sisters. Surviving are her daughter, Amy Martin and husband Jeff of Kernersville; one son, Terry Pope and wife, Cathy of Ridgeway, VA; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, two step-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Alvin ""Tommy"" Gallimore of Belews Creek, Fred Gallimore of Blacksburg, VA; three sisters, Gladys Joyce of Cleveland, Edith Whipkey of Level Cross, and Grace Sutphin of Cleveland. A Graveside Service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Friday, May 27, 2011 at Bethel United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 12:00 - 1:30 pm prior to the service at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel. Memorials may be directed to Horsepasture Volunteer Fire Dept., 17815 A.L.
