Mrs. Lucy Reginia Goodwin Gannon, 80, passed away Sunday, January 04, 2009 at Silas Creek Manor Nursing Home. She was born October 24, 1928 in Forsyth County to Houston Daniel and Paulette Audrey McKnight Goodwin. Mrs. Gannon was a member of Central Tabernacle. She loved to read religious material and enjoyed cooking on Sundays for her family. Mrs. Gannon loved going to the mountains and the drive-in. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Edward Gannon; two brothers, Buster and Clifton Goodwin; one sister, Jeannie Franklin. Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Coleman and Rebecca Sue Mayberry both of Winston-Salem; four grandsons, Mike, James, Jeff West, Mark Noah; three great grandchildren, Mandy, Casey and Dillan West; one sister, Virginia Ann Lark of Westfield; one brother, Donald Ray Goodwin and his wife Wanda of Winston-Salem; one sister-in-law, Jean Goodwin of Winston-Salem; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00PM Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at Gardens of Memory Mausoleum in Walkertown with Rev. Charlie Harrison officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00PM until 9:00PM Monday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
