Mrs. Lucy Grubbs Davis, 84, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 2 at Village Care of King. She was born in Forsyth County on December 1, 1923 to the late Ezra Franklin and Gladys Stirewalt Grubbs. Mrs. Davis retired from Hanes Hosiery in 1987 with 14 years of service and was a devoted member of Lighthouse Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. She will be dearly missed, but never forgotten. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Hauser. Surviving are her cherished husband of 41 years, Gene Davis; one daughter, Susan Moser and husband, Jeff; one granddaughter, Janie Brady and husband, Scott; one grandson, Billy Byrd Jr. and wife Christina; four great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Joshua Porter, Daniel and Hannah Byrd; one brother, Donald Grubbs. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 5 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with the Rev. Daniel Salmon officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 P.M. this evening at the funeral home.
