Lucille Sowers Young

Young Mrs. Lucille Sowers Young, 89, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home with her daughter by her side. She was born June 12, 1924 in Forsyth County to Thomas Bracket Sowers and Lula Edwards. Mrs. Young was a member of Glory Road Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William ""Bill"" Young. Surviving is her daughter, Brenda Belk-Young; granddaughter, Kay Lawrence both of Kernersville; two great-grandchildren, Heather Lawrence and T.J. Lawrence; numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00PM Monday, September 9, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Charles Whitaker officiating. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
