Lucille Minter Wickline

Lucille Minter Wickline died peacefully on September 5, 2014. She was born to Luther and Clare Minter on April 26, 1921 in Palmyra, VA. She lived her entire life as a selfless, gentle, strong and compassionate lady. As a lifelong member of Palmyra United Methodist Church she valued being a part of the church, as well as finding great enjoyment from family, nature, and sports. For more than 30 years, she shared her virtues with others while working at the Fluvanna County Dept. of Social Services. She was granted a Meritorious Service Award from the VA Dept. of SS; an award from the American Humane Association in recognition of service on behalf of neglected and abused children; and was also honored by the Fluvanna County Dept. of SS for outstanding service and strong regard for her community and its people.
Other than her parents, Lucille was predeceased by her loving husband Cecil Wickline, her son, Mark Wickline, her grandson, John Pace and her brother, Meredith Minter. She is survived by daughter, Anita Pace and husband JW, grandsons and spouses Joel and Laurie Pace, Matthew and Jennifer Wickline and Steven and Ashley Wickline. Great-grandchildren Layla and Waylon Pace, Elly and Gray Wickline, and Stella Wickline, daughter-in-law Cynthia Wickline and step-son Bob Voris and wife CC. The love and support, patience and guidance, and cooking skills that she always modeled will forever be an inspiring memory for all of us.
A service in celebration of a life well lived will be held Wednesday, September 10 at Crown Hill Cemetery in Clifton Forge, VA at 1:00 PM.
