Lucille Dugan Nichols

Mrs. Lucille Dugan Nichols, 86, passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at the Palliative Care Unit at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born January 1, 1922 in Cook County, Illinois. Mrs. Nichols was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church and was Auxillary President of the VFW Post 9010 in Clemmons since 1977. She retired from Eckerd Pharmacy with 20 years of service. Preceding her in death was her husband, Lawrence Eugene Nichols and a son, Lary Strom. Surviving are her children, John Strom, Thomas Strom, Kathleen Causey, George Nichols, and Sherri Caldwell; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Jeanette Van Beek and a brother, John Dugan. A wake service will be held 10:00 AM Friday, August 8, 2008 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Father Conall McHugh officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. A wake will be held 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. The family would like to send special appreciation to all her friends and associates at the VFW.
