Lucille Shutt Kimel

Mrs. Lucille Margaret Shutt Kimel, 93, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2011 at Bermuda Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born August 12, 1918 to Della Shutt. She was reared by her maternal grandparents, Sandy and Alma Hauser Shutt. Mrs. Kimel will be remembered for her giving heart. She was happiest when she could share what she had with others, especially the less fortunate. She loved telling stories and laughing with friends. Mrs. Kimel was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and the WMU. She worked at P.H. Hanes Knitting for a few years when she was young and later worked at R.J.R. Tobacco Company where she retired in 1974 with 30 years of service. Mrs. Kimel was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde E. Kimel; sister Audrey Gilbert; foster son, Michael Doby; her mother; and grandparents. She is survived by two sisters, Grace Parrish of Advance, NC, and Alice Bredemeir and husband Bernard of Richmond, VA; triplet foster grandsons, Benjamin, Ethan, and Zachary, and their mother, Karen, of Randleman; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; all were special to her. A memorial service will be conducted 2:00 pm Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Dana Wooten officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
