Mrs. Lucille ""Granny"" Throckmorton Duggins, 91, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2011 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. She was born March 29, 1920 in Forsyth County to Julius and Etta Throckmorton. Mrs. Duggins was a member of Marshall Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and worked in the Nursery. She was a homemaker and babysitter. Preceding her in death are her husband, Joe Edward Duggins; infant son, Richard Lee Duggins; four brothers and two sisters. Surviving are her daughter, Mary Ann (Matthew) Noah of Rural Hall; her son, Joe Stephen (Sandie) Duggins of King; four grandchildren, Terry Ann (Sammy) Motsinger, Ashley (Ben) Rosecrans, Stephanie (Jerry) Howerton, Kelly (Keith) Wrenn; seven great-grandchildren, Meredith and Logan Motsinger, Jacob, Caleb, and Victoria Rosecrans, Abby and Aiden Howerton; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00PM Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall with Pastor Robert Motsinger officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM until 8:00PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
