Mrs. Lucile Covington Church Bowles, age 90 of King passed away Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Village Care of King. She was born on May 1, 1925 to the late Colonel Will and Grace Salmon Covington in Wilkes County. Mrs. Bowles was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in King. In addition to her parent's Mrs. Bowles was preceded in death by her first husband, Van Church and her second husband, R. W. Bowles, one son, Wilson Eugene ""Gene"" Bowles, two brothers and one sister. Mrs. Bowles is survived by her daughter, Nancy (John) Tutterow. Four grandchildren; Dawn Tutterow, Jeff Tutterow, Jamie (Laurie) Bowles and Bryan (Candice) Bowles and three precious great-granddaughters: Cameron, Ryley and Addison Bowles. She is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Jan Bowles. A graveside service for Mrs. Bowles will be held Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall by Pastor Carl Goodman. The family will receive friends at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday, October 13th from 1:00 until 2:30 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Genealogical Society of Rockingham and Stokes Counties for the purchase of books for the Danbury Library and sent to Sandra C. Turney, 2394 Brown Mountain Road, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041 or to the Gene Bowles Scholarship Fund, c/o North Forsyth High School, 5705 Shattalon Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27105. The family would like to extend at very special heart felt Thank You to Larry and Pat Beeson and Clint and Darshan Hartgrove for the love and care that gave during Mrs. Bowles sickness.
