Mrs. Loyce Anderson Sharpe, 90, of Winston-Salem, passed away Sunday, October 31, 2010 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born November 26, 1919 in Davie County to the late Benjamin F. and Eula Bell Cook Anderson. Mrs. Sharpe was a member of Ardmore Baptist Church and a former member of Forest Hills Baptist Church in Raleigh. She was employed with The National Institute of Health in Cancer Research in Hagerstown, MD. Mrs. Sharpe enjoyed traveling with her family and was an accomplished China painter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Jennings Sharpe; her son-in-law, Herb Grier and three brothers, Roy, Bryan and James Anderson. Surviving are one daughter, Loyceine S. Grier of Parker, CO; one son, Rondal J. Sharpe (Lynda); five grandchildren, Christine Grier Boyton (Greg) of Frankton, CO, Katherine Grier of Parker, CO, Donnell J. Sharpe (Jennifer) of Mooresville, Brandon R. Sharpe of Charlotte and Candace Sharpe Long (Stuart) of Concord; eight great grandchildren, Kayla and Aubrianne Boynton, Kirsten, Kathryn, Anna and Haley Sharpe and Marley and Addison Long; one brother, Gerald Anderson (Mildred) of Mocksville. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Christa Warise officiating. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Sandy Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Iredell County. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
