Mrs. Louise Overstreet Wilson, 85, of Winston-Salem, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 15, 2016 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.
Louise was born March 6, 1931 in Forsyth County to Lawrence and Bertha Overstreet. She worked for many years at Duplan Textiles and then for the school system in the cafeteria. She was a longtime member of Oaklawn Baptist Church and Triad Baptist Church, where she was very active and volunteered in the church office. Louise also volunteered for Hospice. In her free time, Louise enjoyed painting. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow P. Wilson.
Louise is survived by her children, Iris Vaden and husband Ray, Stephen Wilson and wife Jenny, and Brian Keith Wilson and wife Tracie, all of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, David Vaden and wife Miranda, Steven Wilson and wife Cindy, and Cody Wilson and wife Hannah; great-grandchildren, Cody Snow, Damion Wilson, Rebekah Vaden, and Jude Wilson; sister, Peggy Scales; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Louise's life will be held Monday, July 18, 2016 at 2 pm at Triad Baptist Church in Kernersville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
