Louise Jenkins Rose Wauford

Mrs. Louise Jenkins Rose Wauford, 84, passed away April 25, 2013 at Bermuda Village surrounded by her family. She was born on February 26, 1929 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Herbert Hayes Rose and Louise Jenkins Rose. She was a graduate of Vanderbilt University class of 1951. Mrs. Wauford raised her family in Nashville, TN and moved to Winston-Salem in 1977. She was employed by Dr. Joel A. Black, Jr., DDS. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Milton Wauford, her son, James Oakley Wauford, her step-father, Samuel Raymond Schealer, and her step-brother, Robert B. Schealer. Mrs. Wauford is survived by her daughter, Louise Wauford Black and husband Dr. Joel Alexander Black, Jr. of Lewisville, NC; a son, Samuel Hayes Wauford and wife Ann Hall Ring Wauford of Winston-Salem, NC; three grandchildren, Joel Alexander Black, III and wife Betty Robinson Black of Winston-Salem, Suzanne Louise Black Wrighton and husband C. Brian Wrighton of Hoover, AL, and Samuel Hayes Wauford, Jr. and wife Amy Gregory Wauford of Winston-Salem, NC; a great-grandson, C. Brian Wrighton, Jr.. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm, Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Home Moravian Church with the Rev. Ginny Tobiassen officiating. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Greystone Cottage at Bermuda Village for their care and compassion and to the staff of Hospice & Palliative Care of Winston-Salem.
