Louise Elizabeth Kennedy Kerr

Louise Kennedy Kerr, 84, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, NC. She was born in Durham, NC on August 17, 1927, daughter of Ollie Wade Bray Kennedy and Floyd Thomas Kennedy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Lamb and a granddaughter, Noelle Thorpe. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Rev. Warren E. Kerr, with whom she served faithfully in the churches he pastored throughout their marriage. She was a devoted wife and mother, loving grandmother, and an inspiration to many. She was well loved by those whose lives she touched. She had a love for life and family that will be remembered and cherished by her family. She was a member of Robinhood Road Baptist Church. She is also survived by two sons, Rev. Leland Kerr and wife Robyn of Shelby and Dana Kerr and wife Sue of Winston-Salem; two daughters, Cynthia Cash and husband Don of Charlotte and Susan Thorpe and husband Randy of Winston-Salem; eight grandchildren, Jason Kerr and wife Cindy of Winston-Salem, Jeremy Kerr of Brooklyn, NY, Joel Kerr of Shelby, NC, Michael Kerr and wife Natalie of Raleigh, NC, Melissa Browne and husband James of Durham, NC, Rebecca Cash of Charlotte, NC, Andrew Cash of Charlotte, NC, Nick Thorpe and wife Heather of Raleigh, NC; two great-grandchildren, Aedan and Brendan Kerr; a sister, Alice Guess of Durham, NC and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 9, 2011 at Robinhood Road Baptist Church with Rev. Leland Kerr, Rev. John Hackworth, and Rev. Christa Warise officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Entombment will be at Parklawn Memorial Park, 2730 Peters Creek Parkway. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Building Fund of Robinhood Road Baptist Church, 5422 Robinhood Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27106, Kate B.
