Louise Etchison

Ms. Louise Etchison, 93, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.  She was born November 11, 1929, in Forsyth County to the late John Orrell and Fleda Belle Collette Etchison.  She graduated from Emory University with a bachelor’s degree in Nursing.  In the early 1960’s, she served two years in the Peace Corps in North Africa.  She retired from Forsyth Memorial Hospital with 25 years of service.  She retired early to care for her aging parents.  Louise was a member of Center Grove Baptist Church.  Preceding her in death were two sisters, Nana Garrison and Jeanette Messick and three brothers, J.O. Etchison, Jr., Eugene Gray Etchison, and Larry Etchison.  Surviving are three generations of nieces and nephews who loved her as a mother.  Also surviving are many loved cousins and extended family.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel.  Burial will follow at Union Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Lane Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
