Louella Shannon Fuller

Louella May (Shannon) Fuller passed into the next life on Sunday, June 17th at 3:14 PM. Louella was the daughter of Louella Burch Shannon and Harold Charles Shannon. She was predeceased by her husband, Morrell M Fuller Jr; brother, Harold Charles Shannon Jr; sister, Coryl Bell Himle. She is survived by her son James Fuller, grandsons Ian Fuller and Nathan Fuller, and nephews David, Todd and Scott Himle. Louella was born February 14th 1924 in Alameda California. She served in the US Navy during the Second World War. She then attended the University of California at Berkley where she met Mel Fuller. She later attended and graduated from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls Texas. The family moved to Lewisville, North Carolina in 1965. She taught middle school Language Arts in the Winston-Salem public schools for a number of years. Perhaps her greatest joy in life was to rekindle her connection with horses, a love that started as a child with summers spent with her Uncle Marbe and Aunt Bea (Burch) on their ranch in Northern California. Services for Louella will be held Monday, June 25th at 6:00 PM in the chapel at Heritage Woods Senior Living, 2812 Forrestgate Dr. Winston-Salem, NC. Her remains will be interred beside her husband Mel in Chico, California.
