Mrs. Lottie Mae Hepler Childress, 87, of Winston-Salem passed away Thursday, June 3, 2010 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born March 26, 1923 in Forsyth County to Zebulon and Rosa Bodfort Hepler. Mrs. Childress was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Childress; two sons, Steven and Jerry Childress; one brother, Frank Hepler; three sisters, Maxine, Sandra and Nona; and one grandson, Ricky Cox. Surviving is a son, Larry Childress and wife Elaine of High Point; two daughters, Kathy Hawks and husband Ed of Winston-Salem and Linda Fearington and husband Tootie of Lewisville; eight grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; one brother, Jimmy Hepler and wife Helma of Winston-Salem; and one sister, Doris Wilkins of Winston-Salem; daughther-in-law Judy Childress of King. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 4 at Parklawn Memorial Park with Dr. Bud Owen officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Saturday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
