Lotfy "Lou" Mankaryos

Lotfy ""Lou"" Abdel Noor Mankaryos, 76, of King, North Carolina passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Olde Knox Commons Nursing Center in Huntersville, North Carolina, surrounded by his loving family. Lou was born on September 28, 1939 in Sohag, Egypt. In 1981 Lou and his family migrated to the United States and established their home in King, North Carolina. Lou was seeking a better life for his family and improved opportunities for his children. His commitment to his family was evident given the sacrifice he made to ensure that they were able to successfully migrate and begin their new lives. Lou spent 25 years as an employee at AMP/Tyco Electronics serving in a variety of positions before he retired in 2008. Lou was an active participant at Calvary Baptist Church and sought to lead a life committed to Christian values. He was a loving father, grandfather and Christian leading his life in a manner that provided a wonderful example to those around him. He was known as a ""fix-it"" man and was often tinkering with things in his garage. He also loved to bake bread and evidence of that could often be seen in his kitchen. Lou was kind and loving and committed to God and his family. Survivors include his son, Sam Mankaryos, daughter-in-law, Lisa Ducharme, grandson, Logan, daughter, Nora Thomas, son-in-law, Gregg Thomas and grandson, Christopher. He was preceded in death by his parents, Abdel Noor Mankaryos and Rosa Hanna Nasrala. Visitation and funeral services will be held at Calvary Baptist Church located in King, North Carolina on Saturday, January 2, 2016. Visitation will be held at 1 pm with funeral services immediately following at 2 pm. Pastor Vince Keeton will be officiating. Lou will be laid to rest immediately following the funeral at Calvary Baptist Cemetery in Walnut Cove, North Carolina. A special thank you to Hospice & Palliative Care Lake Norman and the staff at Olde Knox Commons Nursing Center in Huntersville, North Carolina for their loving care and support to Lou and the family. Their commitment to providing superior care to their residents is evident in everything they do.
