Lorraine Brown Kirk

Mrs. Lorraine B. Kirk, 95, passed away Sunday, Dec. 29, 2024, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, NC. Mrs. Kirk was born May 13, 1929, in St. Albans, VT to Willis and Lillian Brown. 

She attended H.S. Bellows Free Academy, graduating in 1946 and the University of Vermont, class of 1950. She married Howard W. Kirk on June 4, 1949. They were married for 55 ½ years until Howard’s passing on Oct. 5, 2004. Mrs. Kirk retired with her husband to Lewisville, N.C. in April of 1986. She has been a member of Lewisville United Methodist Church since 1987, fellowship class, U. M. W., and Morning Circle. Mrs. Kirk also volunteered with H. W. K. for Meals on Wheels and was a volunteer at Novant Forsyth Medical Center from 1987 until 2015. She moved to Homestead Hills Retirement Center in 2009. 

Mrs. Kirk is survived by her three children, Jeffrey W. Kirk of Conestoga, PA, Jennifer Johnson and husband Bryan of Dunellen, FL, and Judith Chastain and husband Keith of Crestview, FL. 

An 11am funeral service will be conducted Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Lewisville United Methodist Church with Rev. Paul Brown and Rev. Kara Chamberlin officiating. 

Flowers will be accepted at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, 3315 Silas Creek Pkwy, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 and memorials may be made to Lewisville United Methodist Church, 6290 Shallowford Rd, Lewisville, NC 27023.
