Lorene Davis Hurst

WINSTON-SALEM--Mrs. Lorene Hurst, 90, of Winston-Salem passed away on February 19, 2013. She was born to Leonard and Pearl Giles Davis in Newport, Tenn. Raised in the Baptist faith, she married Clarence Hurst and later moved to Winston-Salem. She always had both a smile and time for those who knew her. She was devoted to her family and active in her careers as a teacher and dental lab owner. She enjoyed growing roses and was an exceptional mother, grand-mother and great-grandmother, lovingly called GiGi. She will be greatly missed by her daughter, family and friends. Mrs. Hurst was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Hurst; one son, Avery Hurst; her parents and two brothers, Ernest and Joe Davis. Mrs. Hurst is survived by her daughter, Mary Davis and husband Charles of Winston-Salem; five grandchildren, Mark, Brad, Steven and wife Stacy, Michael and wife Jennifer, and Brian and wife Stephanie; one daughter-in-law, Teri Hurst-Russ and husband Henry; 13 great-grandchildren, Jack, Charlie, Bryce, Perri, Denton, Wesley, Jackson, Thomas, Mya, Anna, Camden, Graham and Elliot. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Parklawn Mausoleum Chapel with Chaplain Meghan McSwain officiating. Memorials may be made to the Kate B.
