Mrs. Lorain Davis Reavis, 89, of Winston-Salem passed away Sunday, January 18, 2009 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Mrs. Reavis was born in Forsyth County to the late Samuel Enoch and Anna Lee Harvel Davis on October 27, 1919. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. Mrs. Reavis enjoyed working in her garden, sewing, and various home improvement jobs. She will be remembered as a dynamic lady who touched everyone she came in contact with and blessed many lives. Mrs. Reavis was preceded in death by her husband Miles Paige Reavis. She is survived by a son Larry Paige Reavis of Denton; two daughters Martha L. Reavis of Mocksville and Ann Leigh Reavis of Winston-Salem; three grandchildren Ashley Bailey and husband Richard, Joy Flanigan and husband Timmy, and Joshua Smith; four great grandchildren Noah and Abram Miles Flanigan, Emma and Trey Bailey; a sister Virginia D. Olson and husband George of Sacramento, CA; and a host of loving cousins. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Charlie Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6- 8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
