Lora Norman Landreth

WALNUT COVE - Mrs. Lora Norman Landreth, 88, died Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at Walnut Cove Health Care Center. Lora was born on April 14,1926 in Forsyth County to Willie Lee and Hattie Agnes Harper Norman. Lora was a devoted wife and mother, with a strong faithfulness all of her life to those she loved. Her care for family had no limits! She was an active member of Walkertown Baptist Church for over 61 years, serving as a Sunday School teacher and was the director of the Children's Nursery for 40 years. Lora shared her crocheting talent with family and friends with hand crafted afghans and most prominently, her Christmas ornaments. Her artistic ability has been proudly passed on to others in her family.

In addition to her parents, Lora was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, John Manuel Landreth; two brothers, Charlie and Bill Norman; and two sisters, Alda Gordon and Dorothy Landreth.

Surviving are her son, Mark Landreth (wife, Beverly); her daughter, Nancy Oldham (husband, William T.); four grandchildren, Tyrus Manuel, Leah Smith, Lorian Landreth and Brinan Landreth; two great grandchildren, Jessica Oldham and Lincoln Smith; one brother, Henry Norman; and one sister, Modelle Beauchamp.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Philip Wagoner officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 11:00 - 11:45 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
