Lola Shelton Walton

KERNERSVILLE - Mrs. Lola Shelton Walton, 91, passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at her residence. Lola was born March 28, 1921 in Forsyth County to the late Crawford J. and Estelle Alley Shelton. She was member of Sedge Garden United Methodist Church, where she remained very active as long as her health permitted. Lola enjoyed being with her friends and family and enjoyed crafts, operating a ceramic business at one time. In addition to her parents, Lola was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Walton; a son, Robert Michael; a sister, Delores Fagg and a brother, Paul Shelton. Surviving are four sons, Steve Walton (wife, Amy) of Kernersville, Eddie Walton (wife, Becky) of Sneeds Ferry, Richard Walton of Rocky Point and Ronnie Walton of Kernersville; one brother, Donald Shelton (wife, Karen) of Winston-Salem; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Sedge Garden United Methodist Church with Rev. Dave Cash officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery in Winston-Salem. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Liberty Hospice and Bayada Home Health Care for the kindness and care of Lola during her extended illness.
