Lois Pardue Wofford

Mrs. Lois Wofford, 91, of Winston-Salem passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at The Oaks at Forsyth. She was born June, 29, 1922 in Forsyth County to John Virgil and Ethel Parks Pardue. She was retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company after 40 years of service. She then went to work at the Medicine Shoppe and later Beltone Hearing Center, while volunteering at Forsyth Memorial Hospital. She officially retired from the workforce at the age of 82. She was an early member of Chatham Baptist Church where she played the piano. She had a very caring spirit and loved Jesus. We are at peace that she has gone home to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Odel Pardue, and 2 sisters, Rosie Martin and Mabel Davis. Surviving are a son, Tommy Wofford and daughter-in-law, Mileigha; 2 granddaughters, Leslie Turek (Mike) and McKamie Wofford; a great granddaughter, Lily Turek; a sister, Frances Blackmon; and a number of nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. Lois had many close friends, including special friends, Mary and Ronnie Reavis. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday at Forsyth Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel (3771 Yadkinville Road) with Pastor Richard Merando officiating. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends following the service. A special thanks to her caregivers, Lesa Thomas, nurses and cna's on the 9th floor at Novant Health and special nurses and cna's at The Oaks at Forsyth for caring for mom.
