Lois Phyllis Westmoreland

Mrs. Lois Phyllis Beverage Westmoreland passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born October 29, 1928 in Shoshone County, Idaho to the late Columbus Andrew Beverage and Nannie Fern Jessen Beverage. Mrs. Westmoreland retired from Forsyth County Department of Social Services. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Westmoreland was preceded in death by her husband, Baxter Whitaker Westmoreland; two sisters and four brothers all of California. Surviving are two sons, Charles Westmoreland of Clemmons, and James Westmoreland and his wife Diana of Winston-Salem; one daughter, Linda Holt and husband, Mark of Winston-Salem; three grandchildren, Wesley Holt and wife Joanna, Kristie Swaim and husband, Kris, and Travis Westmoreland; three great-grandchildren, Riley Holt, Kurt Swaim and Kaylee Swaim. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 8 at Oak Grove Moravian Church with the Rev. Matthew Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the church graveyard. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 7 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
