Lois Edwards Vipperman, 89, wife of Eugene Edward Kennedy, both of King, NC passed away peacefully Sunday morning July 31, 2022, at 9:30 a.m. due to complications of a long term illness. Mrs. Vipperman was born in Hamptonville, NC, daughter of Weaver and Ruby Edwards.  She was a long time employee of R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company and resided most of her life in Winston-Salem.  After retirement, she relocated to Low Gap, NC for several years and then finally moved to King, NC. Lois loved listening to music and socializing with friends and family. She always enjoyed entertaining and cooking for visitors in her home.  Her last few months were spent at Walnut Ridge Assisted Living in Walnut Cove, NC. Mrs. Vipperman was preceded in death by her first husband Benjamin Franklin Dowell, Sr., her second husband Johnny Vipperman, her sister Alma Whitman, two brothers, Robert Edwards and James Edwards. Surviving is her husband Eugene Edward Kennedy, her son Benjamin F. Dowell, Jr. and wife Ruth Sidden Dowell, two grandchildren, Lois Eileene Dowell and Benjamin F. Dowell, III and one brother Billy Ray Edwards and wife Kaye Edwards.  The family would like to extend their gratitude for the love and care given to Lois during her stay at Walnut Ridge, memory care unit in Walnut Cove.

A Celebration of Life will be held 7:00 PM August 4, 2022, at Marshall Baptist Church, 5937 Old Rural Hall Road in Winston-Salem with Pastor John Holmes officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Marshall Baptist Church, 5739 Old Rural Hall Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27105 and/or Trellis Supportive of Walnut Cove, 810 S. Main Street, Walnut Cove, NC 27052.
