Lois Grubbs Robertson

KERNERSVILLE – Lois Grubbs Robertson, 94, passed away Monday, January 27, 2025 at Kerner Ridge Assisted Living. Lois was born on June 27, 1930 in Forsyth County to Jerry Newton and Frances Brown Grubbs. Lois was a lifelong member at Mt. Olive United Methodist Church in Walkertown. Growing up right down the street on Camp Betty Hastings Road provided a great connection with the church and community in a time where everyone helped each other. Her father was instrumental in building Mt. Olive which also created a special bond with the church.

Lois retired from Jostens Publishing Company with over 30 years of service. In retirement, she loved going to Emerald Isle with her husband, Bobby, eating seafood while he fished. She enjoyed watching movies, and hanging out with her sister, Jean, and the Hardees Group in Walkertown. The two sisters were known as the Grubbs Girls. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Julian “Bobby” Robertson, Jr,; her son, Dean Robertson; and a sister, Norma Jean Sapp.

Surviving are her daughter, Kay R. Gordon (Johnny); four grandchildren, Deena Robertson, Kendall G. Rinfrette (Mike), Jacob Robertson, and Joshua Robertson; five great grandchildren, Chloe, Zoe, Tommy, Charlie, and Jordy; and a special nephew, Stan Sapp (Tammy), who loved his “Aunt Loisy” and her sweet tea.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Our Christian Heritage Church Cemetery (Mt. Olive Community Cemetery). The family will gather at the cemetery at 12:30 prior to the service to visit with friends.

The family extends a heartfelt “Thanks” to the staff at Kerner Ridge Assisted Living, who have cared for Lois and treated her like their own for the past 10 years.
