Mrs. Lois Craver Redding, 71, of Lewisville died Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. She was born January 10, 1939 in Clemmons, the daughter of the late, Marvin Daniel and Mary Grace Howard Craver. Mrs. Redding was a former member of Lewisville Baptist Church and was presently a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was a 1957 graduate of Southwest High School. She operated a catering service for many years and retired from Nationwide Insurance Company following 25 years of service. She was a volunteer for over 30 years for the Miss America Scholarship Organization, serving as Business Manager and Groomer for the Miss Forsyth County Scholarship Pageant Association. One of her greatest pleasures in life was grooming contestants for the Miss North Carolina Pageant. As a groomer she was just as concerned with inner beauty as with outer beauty. She loved her annual trip to Atlantic City each September with family and friends for the Miss America Pageant. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, David Jon Redding, her twin sister, Joyce Bailey and brother-in-law, Kermit Bailey; and her brother, Donald ""Rusty"" Craver. Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Buddie Redding of the home; one son, Daniel ""Danny"" Redding, Jr. and wife, Anita Mock Redding of Hudson; one daughter, Mary Ann Redding of the home; three grandsons, Daniel Redding and wife, Jessica of Harrisburg, Jonathan Redding and wife, Angela of Winston-Salem and Thomas Redding of Hudson; one great grandson, Dylan Redding of Harrisburg; one brother, Thomas Roland Craver and wife, Mary Lynn of Greensboro; one sister-in-law, Peggie Bell of Cary; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, November 27, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Lewisville Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Redding, Jr., Dan Redding and Jon Redding officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
