Lois Kinney

Lois Key Kinney 80, passed away January 14, 2018 at her home in Pfafftown, NC. She was born November 1, 1937 in Forsyth County, NC to James Monroe Key and Sallie Bet Wall Key. She and her husband Thomas "Tommy" Kinney were the original owners of "67" Motors auto salvage yard in Pfafftown. She loved family, flowers and friends. She enjoyed NASCAR, K&W and her newspaper. She attended Old Richmond School. Lois worked for Hanes Hosiery and was paid by completed tasks. She was so efficient that she was able to completely pay for her husband's first employee from her salary. Until her illness, she spent her winters in Marathon, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband and two sisters, Rachel Key Marshburn, of Sanford, and Dorothy Key Norman, of Pfafftown. She is survived by her daughter Tammy Kinney Black and son-in-law Ronald B. Black of Winston-Salem; two beloved grandchildren, Victoria L. Black of Washington, DC and Thomas W. Black of Winston-Salem, and one sweet dog, Tripp Kinney. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel Rural Hall with Pastor Elisha Robertson of New Bethel Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
