Lois Peddycord Gregory

Greensboro - Lois Peddycord Gregory, 85, a loving wife, mother that always put her children first, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Blumenthal Jewish Home. She was born September 22, 1927 in Yadkin Co., to the late John and Leola Vestal McCollum. Mrs. Gregory grew up in Kernersville and was a former member of Gospel Light Baptist Church. She later joined Church Street Baptist Church in Greensboro. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband of 40 years, Roy Crews Peddycord; and son, Donald Ray Peddycord. Surviving are her husband of 20 years, Walter James Gregory of the home; daughter, Faye Nelson of Lewisville; two sons, Roy Gray Peddycord and wife, Connie of Claremont, Harry James Peddycord and wife, Susan of Raleigh; three step-daughters, Norma Brewer and husband, J.T., Mary Kendrick, and Peggy Smith all of Greensboro; two step-sons, Dorman Gregory and wife, Juanita of Greensboro, Archie Gregory and wife, Julie of Reidsville; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Faith Crump; and one great-grandson, Colt Crump. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 13, 2013 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Dr. Bobby Roberson officiating. Burial will follow in Pisgah United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 -8:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Norma and J.T. Brewer, 4703 Waldorf Drive, Greensboro, NC 27455.
