Mr. Lloyd Jasper ""L.J."" Lambert Jr. passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born in Forsyth County on June 18, 1927 to the late Lelia Mazie Durham Lambert and Lloyd Jasper Lambert Sr. L.J. was employed at Piedmont Airlines for 44 years and was the longest serving employee at the time of his retirement. Most of his career was as Supervisor of Stores and later he worked in Purchasing. L.J. and his wife, Gladys, had many friends with whom they took vacations, trips, motorcycle rides and other events. L.J.'s first love was golf and he was a member of Pinebrook Country Club for many years. He was an excellent dancer, skater and bowler. In addition to his parents, L.J. was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Gladys D. Lambert; two sisters, Norma Lea and Patsy Jo; and one brother, Jack. He is survived by three brothers: James, Roy (Blanche), Ray (Peggy). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 28, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with the Rev. Andy Lambert officiating. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation, 1300 Baxter Street, Suite 150, Charlotte, NC 28204. The family wishes to thank all the nurses, doctors and staff of the ICU at Forsyth Medical Center for their excellent care.
