Colfax-Lloyd Wesley ""Duke"" Hayden, 72, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, July 7, 2010. Lloyd was the youngest of five children; born February 28, 1938 in Randolph Co. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. James Raleigh Hayden and Essie Noah Hayden Sechrest. Mr. Hayden retired from North Carolina Department of Transportation. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence and Howard Hayden. He leaves behind a wife, Carol Smith Hayden; seven children, Keith Hayden and wife, Debra, Tammy Hayden, Kenneth Hayden, Anita Rogers and husband, Lenny, Marsha Evans and husband, Andy, Steve Hayden and Richard Hayden and wife, Diane; fourteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; two brothers, Rev. Raleigh Hayden, Jr., and William A. Hayden A Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Shining Light Baptist Church, 4530 West Wendover Ave. in Greensboro with Rev. Jimmy Dillon officiating. Burial will follow in Smith Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Colfax.
