Lizzie Stevenson Mock

LewisvilleMrs. Lizzie Stevenson Mock, 95, of Lewisville, died Monday, July 25 at The Oaks at Mayview Convalescent Center, Raleigh, NC. She was born in Warren County, NC to Walter Robert Stevenson and Queen Garrett Stevenson on May 16, 1916. Mrs. Mock was a member of Lewisville United Methodist Church and a dedicated wife, mother and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Otha Lee ""Buck"" Stevenson and Luther Robert ""Cedar"" Stevenson and by her husband of 60 years, Clyde Odell Mock. Surviving are son Clyde Odell ""Jim"" Mock of Midland , NC, and Judieth E. Mock of Raleigh, NC, three grandchildren, Allison Mock Schatz of Raleigh, NC, Jason Daniel Mock, and wife Paige of Midland, Savannah Adell Mock of Albemarle, and great granddaughter, Zoe Alexis Schatz. Also surviving is one sister, Sadie Washington Norwood of Norlina, NC. Mrs. Mock loved her church, serving at various times as church treasurer and Sunday school teacher and participated in many activities of Women of the Church. She especially enjoyed the Echoes, weekly fellowship at Vienna Village, and the Joy Club. She also valued her 60 year membership in the Home Demonstration Clubs (now known as the Extension and Community Association) and led her local club's educational programs in food and nutrition. She was a wonderful cook and an accomplished gardener. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, July 28, 2011 at Lewisville United Methodist Church with Pastor Keith Bingham officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 10-11 AM preceding the service. Memorials may be made to Lewisville United Methodist Church, P.O.
