Linnaeus Foster Mock, Sr.

Mr. Linnaeus Foster Mock, Sr. gently passed into his heavenly rest on June 10, 2016 at Trinity Elms in Clemmons, NC. He was born in Clemmons on October 24, 1924 to Linnaeus and Mittie Foster Mock. He graduated from Clemmons School.

His life of ninety-one years is remembered for his dedication to family, with steadfast devotion and care for his wife of fifty-two years, Virginia Coltrane Mock. While working for thirty-seven years for R.J. Reynolds, he also farmed to provide further abundance for his family. An avid horseman, he enjoyed riding up to the age of 90.

His spiritual journey began at Clemmons Moravian Church and continued among his friends and neighbors at Fraternity Church of the Brethren and Hope Moravian Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Mock was preceded in death by his sister Charlotte Daniel, and his wife, Virginia.

Survivors include his sons, Michael, and Linnie, Jr, with his wife Cindy, and grandchildren, Linnaeus Foster Mock III, and Jessi Lynn Mock-Merlos (Cesar), and great-granddaughter, Clarissa Virginia. They share with the families of nephew, Allen Daniel (Lisa), Benjamin and Carrie, and niece, Regina Hill (Tom), Jonathan (Melissa) and Jessica (Brad) an abiding love for a gentle and honest man of humble nature.

A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 10:00 am at Hope Moravian Church with Rev. Andrew L. Heil and Rev. Dave Kindy officiating. Interment will follow the service at Clemmons Moravian Church Graveyard. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
