Linda Faye Fansler Williard

Mrs. Linda Faye Fansler Williard, 72, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, February 19, 2017 at her home. She was born September 3, 1944 in Forsyth County to the late Imogene Yates Fansler and Homer Woodrow Fansler. Mrs. Williard was affectionately known as Grammy by all those who knew and loved her. She retired from R. J. Reynolds and was a beloved substitute teacher at Poplar Springs Elementary. Grammy loved angels and enjoyed reading, but her grandchildren were her world. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Williard was preceded in death by her husband, John Wesley Williard Jr. She is survived by two daughters, Andrea Cardwell and Tracy Cardwell (Scott); sister, Barbara Tilley; four very special grandchildren: Andrea's children, Mara and Dylan Boles, Tracy and Scott's children, Cole and Mary Cardwell; and her canine companion, Lucy. A funeral service will be conducted 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 22, at King Moravian Church with the Rev. Jimmie L. Newsom Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. The committal service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 23, at God's Acre in King. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
