Linda Parker Smith

WINSTON-SALEM-Mrs. Linda Parker Smith, 72, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Smith was born on May 3, 1942 in Forsyth County to the late Curtis William Parker and Helen Davis Parker. Linda was a devout Christian and a firm believer in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She always enjoyed sharing her belief with others and taking her grandchildren to vacation bible school each summer. Linda also enjoyed watching Charles Stanley speak and share his message on television. In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her son, Jerry Smith. Mrs. Smith is survived by her loving husband, Albert Smith of the home; two daughters, Lisa Andrews of Winston-Salem and Teresa Gilchrist (Joseph) of Winston-Salem; one son, Todd Smith of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, Holly Andrews, Heather Andrews, Jillian Schaible (Josh), Jenna Snyder (John), Freedom Gilchrist, Brandon Smith, Austin Smith, Mitchell Smith; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Madison, Mackenzie, Alisa, Little Michael, Jayden, Peyton, Camden; two sisters, Judy Parker and Betty Parker, both of Winston-Salem; and two special extended family members, Rosa Smith and John Watson. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm until 2:30 pm on Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Linda will be deeply missed by all of her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. The love she shared with her family and especially her husband will be everlasting.
