Linda Keel

Mrs. Linda Satterwhite Keel, 77, passed away Monday, November 7, 2022, at her residence. Linda was born in Vance County to the late Nolton Madison Satterwhite and Effie Capps Satterwhite on December 23, 1944. Linda was a faithful wife and mother who left her position as a secretary at Southern National Insurance when her first child was born to fulfill her dream of being a stay-at-home mother.  Although not a formally trained teacher, Linda embraced her children’s education in all capacities to encourage them to explore many paths. Linda enjoyed the beauty of life through her extensive gardening and entertaining. She also delighted in cooking creatively and cake decorating.  Linda traveled with her husband and children on several trips. Her favorite family trips included the beach, Disney World, and Hawaii. Linda embraced her role as a mother long after her children left the home often purchasing coats and snacks for children at the schools her daughter taught. She is survived by her loving husband of fifty years, Richard Clayton Keel; daughters, Melanie Keel and husband Stephen Robling, Richele Taylor, and husband Stacy; grandson, Hunter Taylor.  In keeping with Linda’s private nature, the family will honor her wishes and have a private memorial service at a later date.
