COOK - SHOALS Mrs. Linda Lou Fulk Cook, 69, passed away Monday, May 6, 2013 at her home. She was born in Surry Co. on February 1, 1944 the daughter of the late Carl and Mabel Fulk. On July 1, 1967 Linda married her loving husband, Delmer Ray Cook and the next 45 years have been filled with love, devotion and happiness. Linda spent her professional career working at Hanes Hosiery in Winston-Salem and later retiring from Friday's Child in Pilot Mountain. The majority of her life was spent caring for and loving children in her home. She was a proud member of Fairview United Methodist Church in Shoals. Linda was a member of the Shoals Red Hatters Club and enjoyed the outings with those sweet ladies wearing her purple and red attire. Linda will always be remembered as a loving wife to her husband, the best mom in the world and most of all a heartfelt ""Meme"" that provided an abundance of love and care for her grandchildren. She lived her life as a devoted Christian and a woman of God who traveled this life by faith and not sight and gave glory to God for everything. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Phillip Fulk; a sister, Peggy Miller; two brothers-in-law, Hanzel Miller and Foster Nunn; and a sister-in-law, Polly Fulk. Linda is survived by her husband, Delmer Ray Cook of the home; a son, Rodney Edward Cook and wife Candy of Shoals; a daughter, Alisha Cook Hutchens and husband Tim of Shoals; four grandchildren: Grace Elizabeth Cook, Mary Beth McKenzie Cook, Isabella Rae ""Bella"" Hutchens and Jon Timothy Hutchens. Linda is also survived by her very special and loving siblings: Bernice Nunn, Rex Fulk, Donald Fulk (Frankie), and Becky Wall (Jimmy); two brothers-in-law, Billy Cook (Nancy) and Sandy Cook (Nancy); a sister-in-law, Sarah Anderson (Kent); and several nieces, nephews and other special friends and family that she loved so much. She thought everyone was special in their own way and appreciated all the love that each of you shared with her. Funeral services for Linda will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Fairview United Methodist Church in Shoals with Rev. David Cook officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening May 8, 2013 at Fairview United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to: American Cancer Society, 1900 S.
