Linda Bowles Canter

Mrs. Linda Sue Bowles Canter, 67, of Mocksville, passed away Friday, January 30, 2015 as a result of an automobile accident. She was born January 3, 1948 in Forsyth County to James C. Bowles, Jr. and Mattie Warner Bowles. She was a lifelong member of Green Meadows Baptist Church, who loved her church. Linda retired from Reynolds Tobacco Company and was also an avid Duke basketball fan. Surviving are her husband, George A. Canter, Jr.; a son, James R. Canter (Lisa); a daughter, Kathryne ""Kathy"" C. Evans (Shawn) and three loving grandchildren, Kaitlin, Cody and Conner Evans. Also surviving are two brothers, James C. Bowles, III (Penny), Kenneth G. Bowles (Elaine); several nieces, nephews and two special friends; Linda Gaither and Lucy Welch. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Green Meadows Baptist Church with Pastor Josh Greene and Rev. Ray Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
