Lincoln Marsh

Mr. Lincoln Marsh, 92, of Winston-Salem died Monday, November 8, 2010 at Clemmons Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born June 21, 1918 in Surry County, the son of the late John William and Mary Freeman Marsh. Mr. Marsh was a member of Memorial United Church of Christ. He was Co-owner of Parkway Plaza Barber Shop from the time the shopping center opened until the early 1980's. He loved to work in his garden and sharing his vegetables with his neighbors. He enjoyed meeting friends for coffee during his walks at the Market Place Mall. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Black Marsh; four brothers, Kelly Marsh, Garl Marsh, Harlowe Marsh and Roland Marsh; and two sisters, Bertha Shinalt and Reba Rector. He is survived by one daughter, Ann Marie Yow and husband, Larry of Winston-Salem and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Norwood Green officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 7:30 PM at the funeral home.
