Lillie Billings Swaim passed away on October 22, 2015 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born on January 1, 1922 to James Hillary Billings and Martha Bowers Billings in Wilkes County. Lillie retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company with 39 years of service. She was a devoted member of Grace Baptist Temple for 18 years. Lillie enjoyed time spent outdoors, gardening, doing yardwork and growing tomatoes. She especially loved tending to her roses at the beach house. Lillie is survived by her son, Johnny Ray Swaim (Kim Lineberry); daughter, Linda Swaim; grandchildren, Matthew Alan Swaim, Mark Wesley Swaim (Jana), and Lauren Nicole Hilbert; sisters, Melba Johnson, and Nina Sturdivant; as well as special friends, Leo and Kay Gower, Estelle Huff, and Ray and Ruth Caudle. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Ed Sears officiating. Entombment will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
