PULLIAM - WINSTON-SALEM Mrs. Lillie Mae Bennett Pulliam passed away Friday, November 11, 2011 at the Lutheran Home - Winston-Salem. She was born February 14, 1926 in Stokes County to the late Bessie Evelyn Shelton Bennett and Aaron Roscoe Bennett. She retired from Duplan Corporation and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pulliam was preceded in death by her husband, Sim Lee Pulliam; three brothers, Dennis, Ernest and Ralph Bennett; three sisters, Effie Jean Thomas, Rosa Hall and Hettie Herlocker. Surviving are her brother, Roy Bennett and wife, Elsie of Oak Ridge; five sisters, Ruby Fulton of Kernersville; Nancy Shatley of Wichita, KS, Elsie Hampton and husband, Kenny of Walnut Cove, Shirley Williams of Germanton, and Doris Mickels and husband, Bill of Shoals; and also numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with the Rev. Todd Lusk officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Avenue, 7th floor, New York, NY 10001.
