Mrs. Lillie Rebecca Fulk Crews, 98, passed away at her home on Tuesday, January 22, 2013. She was born in Forsyth Co. on October 16, 1914 the daughter of the late Squire Fulk and Annie Ramsey Fulk. Mrs. Crews was the oldest member of Union Tabernacle Church and attended faithfully as long as her health permitted. She will be remembered as a wonderful baby sitter and seamstress. Mrs. Crews enjoyed reading novels and working word puzzles. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus William Crews, a son, William Vernon Crews, two sisters and five brothers. She is survived by two daughters, Doris Ingram and husband Don of Winston-Salem and Shirley Covington and husband Bob of Pinnacle, a daughter-in-law, Shelby Hutchins Crews of Winston-Salem, four grandchildren, Rusty Covington, Chris Ingram (Kristina), Danny Crews and Brian Crews, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service for Mrs. Crews will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2013 at Union Tabernacle Church in Winston-Salem with Pastor, Herbert Mabe officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 this evening, Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall and at other times at the home of Doris Ingram. The family would like to thank the staff of the 8th floor at Forsyth Medical Center and Advanced Home Care for the care that was shown in Mrs. Crews' time of need. They would also like to thank Hospice and Palliative Care for the kindness and guidance that was shown toward Mrs. Crews.
