WINSTON-SALEM, NC-Mrs. Lillie Mae Willard Blackburn, 95, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2015, at Vienna Village Assisted Living Center. Mrs. Blackburn was born on January 5, 1920, in Forsyth County, NC to the late Albert Willard and Annie Dickerson Willard. She was a long-time member of Bethesda Moravian Church where she was active in the J.O.Y. Circle and attended as long as her health permitted. She retired from Hanes Brands, Inc. after more than 40 years of service. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Blackburn was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Miller Blackburn; three brothers, James Willard, Albert Willard, and Charlie Willard; and one sister, Mary Willard. Mrs. Blackburn is survived by one son, Tom Blackburn (Janice) of Winston-Salem; a daughter, Pam Wells (Doug) of Winston-Salem; five grandchildren, Laura Blackburn of Winston-Salem, Reed Blackburn (Christie) of Pittsboro, NC, Kirk Blackburn of Wilmington, NC, Holly Wells of Raleigh, NC, and Ben Wells of Winston-Salem; and three great-grandchildren, Olivia Mlatac, Farrell Blackburn, and Finley Blackburn. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at Salem Moravian Graveyard with Rev. Richard Spaugh officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Forsyth County, 101 Hospice Ln., Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
