Lillian Wiles Thomas

Mrs. Lillian Wiles Thomas, 85, passed away Monday, January 4, 2010 at the Bradford Village West in Kernersville. She was born March 13, 1924 in Wilkes County to the late Linville J. and Mattie Walker Wiles. Mrs. Thomas retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company and was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Perry Wilson Thomas: a daughter, Bettie Byrd; one sister and three brothers. Surviving are one daughter, Vicky Hale (Walter) of Kernersville; five grandchildren, Tracey Shifflette (Allen), Allison Peer (Manfred), Meredith Hiatt (Greg), Lenny Byrd and Bart Byrd (Fonda); seven great grandchildren; three step great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 7, 2010 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Charlie Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.
